About me

My name is Xavier Domènech. I was born in Barcelona in 1960 and I have worked in contemporary jewellery since the 1980s, making one-off pieces of my own design.
I studied art jewellery at the Escola Massana and Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. For 17 years, until 2004, I taught jewellery design at the Massana.
I have shown my work in solo and group exhibitions in cities across Europe, the United States and Canada, including the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg in 1995, alongside Ramon Puig Cuyàs.
In 2002, Stephen Birch, now Academic Dean of the European Branch of the Toyohari Association (EBTA), and Miguel Ángel Cabrer asked me to make toyohari and shonishin tools for them. Since then I have made tools to order for acupuncturists all over Europe and in other parts of the world.
